Almanac is designed for licensed clinicians working within their scope of practice. It supports clinical work by making evidence and uncertainty easier to review. The treating clinician remains responsible for patient care decisions.
Review the evidence
Almanac places citations beside clinical claims so you can open the source and review it directly.
When evidence is limited, conflicting, or unavailable, Almanac is designed to identify the uncertainty rather than conceal it behind a single conclusion.
Before using information to make a decision that affects patient care, open the cited source and confirm that it supports the claim.
Make clinical decisions
For high-risk or irreversible decisions, Almanac presents the available evidence, relevant patient context, and known limitations for the treating clinician to review.
Almanac is designed to call attention to apparent contraindications, dangerous interactions, and dosing errors. When a missing detail could change the answer, such as renal function, pregnancy status, or a known allergy, Almanac may ask for it before continuing.
Understand how results are ranked
Almanac doesn’t contain advertising or accept payment to change which evidence it surfaces, recommends, or cites. Results are based on the information and sources available to the task.
Treat retrieved content as data
Search results, research papers, EHR context, and connector responses are treated as data rather than instructions.
If retrieved content appears to contain instructions intended to redirect Almanac, it is identified for your review instead of being followed automatically.
Check an answer
For consequential clinical work:
- Open citations and review the passages supporting important claims, especially numerical ones.
- Review the visible tool activity to understand which searches, calculations, and files contributed to the answer.
- For edited files, open Revisions and review the changes. See Files and documents.
- Choose an approval mode that pauses before sensitive actions. See Permissions.
Report a clinical issue
Use the feedback control on a response to report an incorrect clinical claim, or email support@almanac.chat.
Include the specific claim and citation when possible.
