Approval mode. How much Almanac does without asking. Three settings, from asking about everything to asking about nothing. See Permissions.
Citation. A link from a claim in an answer to the source it came from. Every literature-grounded answer carries them, and they are meant to be opened.
Compaction. Summarizing the earlier part of a conversation to free up
context, so a long thread can keep going. Triggered by you with /compact or
automatically as the window fills. See Models.
Connector. A plugin that links Almanac to an outside system you already use: your EHR, mail, calendar, or a reference service. Authorized by you, and disconnectable at any time.
Context window. How much a model can hold in view at once, across your messages, its replies, your attachments, and every tool result. The ring beside the composer shows how full it is.
Conversation. One thread. Conversations can be bound to a patient, archived, deleted, searched, and forked into side conversations.
Fast mode. Almanac Summit run at higher output speed for a premium rate.
Library. Files available in every conversation, rather than in one. Distinct from the files attached to a single thread.
MCP. The Model Context Protocol, the open standard Almanac uses to talk to connectors. It is what lets your institution add its own server as a plugin.
Memory. Durable facts Almanac keeps between conversations. Personal memory is about you; patient memory is scoped to one patient. Both are visible and both can be deleted. See Personalization.
Permission rule. A saved decision about a specific command or path, filed as allow, ask, or deny, so you are not prompted about the same thing repeatedly.
Plan mode. Almanac researches and proposes a plan, then waits for your approval before doing anything.
Plugin. Anything in the store: a built-in tool, a connector, or a skill.
Reasoning effort. How much the model thinks before answering, from low to max. Set per turn, independent of which model you picked.
Revisions. The diff view showing exactly what Almanac changed in a file, with an undo that actually reverts the change.
Sandbox. The private workspace where Almanac runs code and works with files. It has no route to the open web unless you allow package registries. See Permissions.
Side conversation. A thread forked from the current one, opened in the right
panel with /btw. Starts with the parent's context; keeps the tangent out of the
main thread.
Skill. Instructions that teach Almanac a procedure, loaded when it recognizes the kind of work. See Plugins and skills.
Tool. One capability the model can invoke: a literature search, a calculator, reading a file. A plugin bundles related tools under one card.
Usage credits. A prepaid balance drawn on after your plan's included usage runs out. See Usage and billing.
