Availability of administrative controls is confirmed during rollout. Your agreement with Almanac governs the features available to your organization.
Organization settings can be requirements or defaults.
Choose requirements and defaults
A requirement is fixed by the organization. Members can see it but can’t change it.
Use requirements for settings that enforce security, privacy, or organizational policy.
A default is the initial setting for new members. Members can change it for themselves.
Use defaults for preferences that depend on an individual clinician or task.
Keep requirements focused on settings that must remain consistent across your organization.
Review common settings
| Setting | Typical configuration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in method | Requirement | Keeps access connected to your directory |
| Approval mode | Requirement for PHI workflows | Controls which actions require review |
| Plugins and connectors | Requirement | Controls approved data destinations |
| Web access and domains | Requirement | Controls which websites Almanac may use |
| Memory | Default | Lets members decide whether context carries across conversations |
| Model and reasoning effort | Default | Lets members choose what fits the task |
| Voice and dictation | Default | Lets members choose how they interact with Almanac |
Understand which setting applies
Organization requirements take precedence over member settings.
When no requirement applies, a member’s choice takes precedence over the organization default. The default applies until the member changes it.
Managed controls show which settings are fixed and who manages them.
Change a requirement
A new or updated requirement takes effect for members at their next session and may replace preferences they previously selected.
Tell members before changing a requirement that affects an established workflow.
Decide before rollout
Choose:
- Which settings are requirements.
- Who may change organization requirements.
- How configuration changes are recorded.
- How members request an exception.
See HIPAA configuration.
