Find a patient
Press Command-K to search:
- Conversations by title or content.
- Your patient list by name, medical record number, or date of birth.
- Your connected EHR.
Selecting a patient starts a new conversation connected to them.
Search your EHR
When your organization has connected an EHR, select Search your EHR in the search panel. Enter a medical record number, or a patient name and date of birth, then press Return.
Almanac doesn't send anything to the EHR while you type. If the patient is already in your list, Almanac uses the existing record instead of creating another one.
The EHR connection is read-only. Almanac can retrieve available chart information, but it can't write notes, orders, or other information back to the EHR.
Work with a patient
When a conversation is connected to a patient, Almanac can use the available chart context without requiring you to restate it.
Given this patient's history and current medications, which of these three treatment options would you rule out, and why?
Plugins, files, and other Almanac features work the same way in a patient conversation.
Using Clinical Trials, find recruiting studies this patient may qualify for and list what still needs to be confirmed.
Keep patient information separate
Use patient memory
Patient memory is separate from personal memory and belongs to an individual patient. Information remembered for one patient isn't used in another patient's conversation or in a general conversation.
To review or delete patient memories, open Memory in the side panel or select Manage memories in Settings > Personalization. See Personalization.
Control who can see a patient
A patient record you add is private to you. Patients added by launching Almanac from the EHR are private to the person who launched them. A conversation connected to one patient can't access another patient's data.
Record a visit
Type /visit to record an encounter. Almanac attaches the audio and a running transcript to the patient conversation. See Voice and dictation.
Archive a patient
Archive patients you're no longer following. Archived patients remain searchable, helping you return to the existing record if the patient comes back.
